Sentosa

We travelled to Indonesia in 2006 to lead a workshop bringing together aspiring designers and local craftsmen. Supported by a live project, the opening of a gallery at the Sentosa Hotel and Resort in Seminyak, the workshop created a piece with special significance. Ā»Reincarnation of the SapiĀ«, an installation composed of 3,000 hand-carved bones, celebrates the rebirth of often discarded sapi (cow) bones. According to local beliefs, the cow receives new life in this suspension piece. The installation measures six metres in length, and is draped over a reflective black mirror table at the five-star Sentosa resort in Seminyak, Bali, Indonesia.
